Investigating the Impact of Oil Water Ratio on Rheological Properties of Biodiesel based Drilling Mud

Now a days environmental regulation agencies become highly vocal on issues, due to that petroleum industry especially drilling companies wants all operations safe, secure, 8 within the limits set by these agencies. On basis of above aspect, could be friendly environment with usage materials i.e. fluid cement slurry during completion activities. This study incorporates investigation carried out regarding prospective use biodiesel (vegetable oils) in oil based mud formulation. The vegetable seed (groundnut, soybean) was used as feedstock for preparation transestrification process and tested physicochemical properties compared standard requirements needed base Results show met can oil. Then both biodiesels were utilized formulation at oil/water ratios 60/40, 70/30, 80/20, 90/10 common additives like bentonite, barite, emulsifiers etc. laboratory scale. samples investigated rheological normal temperature different such density, pH, emulsion stability determined samples.
